During its 31 year history, Lighthouse Run, presented by The Journal Times and the Racine Family YMCA, has evolved into one of the premier road run / walks in the state of Wisconsin. Offering both competitive and non-competitive events, Lighthouse Run serves as the official kick-off to summer fitness awareness.
Lighthouse Run proceeds support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. This program aids in redirecting area kids into constructive activities with an emphasis on family structure.
Building strong kids, strong families and strong communities!
YMCA STRONG KIDS CAMPAIGN, IT WORKS BEST WHEN EVERYONE’S A PART OF IT!
At the YMCA, one of our most important goals has always been to enrich the lives of kids in our community. But when some are left out, it leaves us all a bit poorer.

That’s because giving kids a safe and nurturing place to go benefits everyone. By introducing them to experiences that will help them grow into responsible, successful adults, we make the community we love a better place to live. One child at a time. One family at a time.
YMCA programs teach young people important values such as caring, honesty, responsibility and respect.
Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, they also develop valuable skills while they gain confidence and self-esteem. You simply can’t put a price on strengthening and enriching the character of a child.
YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE LIGHTHOUSE RUN CAN HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Membership and program fees at the Racine Family YMCA do not cover all the costs to support these vital community programs. To ensure that no one is denied a chance to participate because of inability to pay, we truly need your help.
Proceeds from your participation in the Lighthouse Run help support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Your contribution helps us provide program support and financial assistance to youth and families who need it in our community. Only by working together can we give more kids the opportunity to grow strong in spirit, mind and body.
RETRO RUNNING SALE
The YMCA will be conducting a “Retro Running Sale” at the run office and on the awards ceremony grounds. Midwest running shops, companies and races have donated merchandise that will be sold at bargain prices. All proceeds benefit the Racine Family YMCA Strong kids program.
